Bouquet CSA Subscriptions

POSY Florals offers: Tulips, Spring and Summer subscriptions of local, sustainable, artfully crafted, floral arrangements.

Many of you may be familiar with the traditional vegetable CSA. The POSY bouquet CSA works in the same way, one bouquet a week for you to enjoy!

Shares are prepaid, one bouquet a week, across four sessions in 2024. Local pick up only, at five locations on the North Shore, Massachusetts.

What’s in a POSY CSA Subscription?

  1. A weekly bouquet of homegrown fresh cut flowers: When you purchase a POSY CSA subscription on the website, you ALSO become a member of the POSY community. You are sharing in nature’s risk with a flower farmer, and you have directly supported a female-owned-and-operated local business!

  2. Our informative weekly CSA newsletter: Provides a description of the flowers in the weekly bouquet, and lets you know what’s going on at the POSY farm.

How does it work?

Updated for 2024: There are four different CSA subscriptions available in the POSY Florals shop. You’ll be able to select a pickup location during check out. CSA start date is largely dependent upon the weather. POSY will send a notification 2 weeks prior to the first pickup and will send email reminders each pickup day. On the pick up date, visit your pick up location and find your bouquet, labeled with your name. Take home and enjoy!

There are a limited number of CSA shares for each session, to ensure we deliver every member a high-quality, fresh, and full bouquet.

What’s a CSA, exactly?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. A CSA is a share-based system that meaningfully connects the farmer to the consumer by allowing the consumer to subscribe to the harvest season and support the farmer in advance of the growing season’s start. By supporting the farmer in this way, the subscription members accept the risks associated with growing, including severe weather, disease, and pests.

CSA subscribers truly are members because they share in the risk with the farmer. In return for members’ commitment, they receive a regularly scheduled share of seasonally available farm goods from the farm. It’s a pretty great model where everyone wins!

It also connects the community by bringing like-minded people together, in support of a local business that is contributing to the local economy.

Picking up your CSA Bouquets

The CSA bouquets include a selection of the best flowers we have growing, at the peak of their bloom during that time. They include a mix of big showy flowers, native perennials, dazzling annuals and unique greenery, artfully arranged for you.

Flowers are harvested within 1-2 days prior to weekly pick up, to ensure the freshest quality, longest vase life and most abundant variety of blooms.

Flowers are delivered to the CSA Pick up locations wrapped in paper with an eco-fresh bouquet plant-based, compostable hydrator so you don’t have to worry about dripping all over on your way home, and they will stay fresh for hours out of water. Each bouquet is labelled, just grab the bouquet with your name and enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Unfortunately we cannot reschedule. We harvest, arrange and deliver CSA shares once per week. We carefully schedule the planting and harvest times to allow us to provide the best selection for each CSA share delivery. If you will be away, or are unable to pick up, we suggest you share the joy with a neighbor or loved one who can pick up the delivery from your pick up location on your behalf.

  • Yes, you can! Be sure to include the recipient’s name and address during check out, and please select the pick up location closest to the recipient. If the pick up location needs to be changed, feel free to reach out.

We’ve also created easy “gift notifications” for you to send to your recipients, found on each CSA product page.

  • YES! Please select POSY Farm during your CSA subscription purchase.

  • When you purchase a CSA share you are committing to support the farm and farmer and share in the risk. CSA shares are non-refundable and non-cancellable after the purchase has been made.

  • For the most part, the flowers will come in paper wrap with an eco-fresh bouquet plant-based, compostable hydrator. Occasionally, in the early Spring, stems may be on the shorter side so we may provide our Posies in small mason jars that can be returned or re-used. Both methods ensure that the arrangement will stay hydrated for several hours until you are able to get them into water.

  • This is THE MOST important question! Your flowers will arrive with a packet of flower food, please use it! Upon arrival, POSY Florals recommends giving the flowers a fresh chop, ½ inch off the bottom of the stems and placing them in a clean vase filled with fresh water and ½ the flower food in the packet. Place the floral arrangement out of the sun and away from ripening fruit and vegetables and enjoy!

After 3-4 days, clean the vase, change the water and add the other ½ of the flower food before giving them another snip. With this regimen you will achieve an extended vase life and enjoy your flowers a little longer!

  • While we are not a certified organic farm, we practice organic, sustainable, nature based growing methods and refrain from the use of harsh chemicals and fertilizers to grow our beautiful flowers.
